Kaka pushes himself to the limit / DT Exclusive: Ask Kaka
The Brazilian midfielder is pushing himself as hard as he can to recover from the strained left adductor sustained on 13 March. Kaka alternates between gym work, field work and physiotherapy every day as doctors, fitness instructors and physiotherapists oversee his recovery. The player is optimistic, his progress is going according to plan and he hopes to rejoin the squad as soon as possible, which is why he pushes himself to the limit every day at Valdebebas.

As Kaka works his way back from injury, we imagine he has used his free time to once again visit a local school and field questions from children. The following is a transcript of that session.

Kaka: Hola, kids! I"m very excited to be here with you today and answer any questions you may have for me. I"ve been a bit frustrated lately since I"ve been injured and unable to play, but being here with you already has me feeling better. So, who has the first question?

Ed: Hi, Kaka. My name is Ed and I"m 10 and a half. My questions is: what do you eat before playing a football match?

Kaka: That"s a very good question, Ed. I always like to have the same thing before a game -- some pasta or grilled chicken. Something healthy to help me play well. Certainly no junk food haha! Who has the next question?

Priscila: Hi, Kaka. My name is Priscila and I love you. If you had an evil twin, would you push him off a bridge or stab him with a fork?

Kaka: Uh, I"d -- um. That"s a funny question, Priscila! I"d probably try to help him not be evil anymore. But ...
Tomas: Hi, Kaka. I"m Tomas and I have a train. How often do you listen to Justin Bieber?

Kaka: Hi, Tomas. I don"t really listen to him. I like gospel music.
[Tomas makes throat slashing motion at Kaka]

Kaka: OK. Maybe, um -- maybe we should just stick to questions about football and Real Madrid. Does anyone have a question about next month"s game against Barcelona?

Frank: Hi, Kaka. My dad said that you"re overrated and if you don"t beat Barcelona, he"s going to trade me for a bulldog. Will he really do that, Kaka?

Kaka: Oh wow. Uh. I don"t. I don"t know. That first part wasn"t very nice either, but he"s probably just joking about trading you for a bulldog. I"m sure he loves you very much. I think maybe we should stop now ...

Sally: Hi, Kaka. I"m Sally and I have a doll named Gonorrhea. Do you think Brazil will win the World Cup this summer?

Kaka: Wow, that was actually a good question, Sally! I do think we have a very good team and if we focus we can accomplish anything, but our group is very difficult, so it won"t be easy. That was a really great question, though. Who has another one?

Tim: Hi, Kaka. I"m Tim and I told my friends that you kidnap babies.

Kaka: Oh my -- why, uh, why did you say that?
[Tim shrugs]

Kaka: OK, I really think we should stop now. If no one else has any questions about football-

Tomas: I have a question about football.

Kaka: All right, OK. Tomas, was it?

Tomas: Will you still be able to play football after Just Bieber beats you up?

Kaka: Jesus.
